Snow Angels

“When angels visit us, we do not hear the rustle of wings, nor feel the feathery touch of the breast of a dove; but we know their presence by the love they create in our hearts.”

What a beautiful quote that I stumbled upon over at:

Christmas After a Hurricane!

I was right in the middle of enjoying Fall and Halloween when we were hit with Hurricane Sandy.  Hurricane Sandy was a nasty hurricane that tore through our town as well as surrounding towns leaving total and complete devastation behind.  Our street was one of the luckier streets in town that suffered no damage.   Our town on the other hand wasn't so lucky.  Our town as well as the Jersey Shore has been forever changed by Sandy.  I had mixed emotions and wasn't sure that I wanted to celebrate the upcoming holidays for many reasons.  One reason is that so many people living in my hometown do not have a home anymore.  I felt guilty for wanting to decorate and celebrate.  My brother and sister-in-law were one of thousands of homeowners not so lucky.  They are determined to rebuild and replace and move on.  My sister-in-law says no matter what she will have a christmas tree.  So maybe that is a good attitude to have.  I'm thinking that maybe my decorations will be in moderation this year!

I'm dreaming of a silver and white holiday ......so I'm looking for inspiration ......

I Love chippy shutters....

Just Love....

I've read so many blogs on how to get your blog started.  Everyone with the same anxiety, will someone read it, will they like it.  Everyone searching for an interesting angle and somehow their blog is born over a pillow or a home made pair of ruffly drapes.  Unfortunately, I haven't had that light bulb moment, I'm waiting... patiently ... until it happens I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures that inspire me.

I can get lost in these pictures I tell ya!   I have a certain style and color which I'm naturally drawn to.  I have many favorites which include roses,  birds, owls, chubby cheeked kids, pastel ribbons, cherubs you name it my list is always growing.

So sit back, sip a cup of tea and look through some of my delightful finds....and let me know what inspires you!

Welcome to my Garden.....

Welcome to my Garden, thanks for your visit, let me know your favorite flower at the end of my post....

What would summer be without this beauty! I love purchasing the same plants year after year and placing them in the same spot as the year before!

Every year I purchase a Gardenia tree for the same spot on my deck.   This fragrant beauty sits right outside my kitchen door.  When I have the doors open the beautiful scent fills my kitchen.

the most fragrant part of my garden!

What is a garden without cherubs, carefully monitoring the water flow.

My blue hydrangea's are absolute stunners this year! I have several vases of snipped hydrangea's.  Now if only they would have a scent~can you imagine!

Sit awhile and watch the birds on one of our concrete benches.
The birds enjoying their seed!
A Red Robin sits in our 40 year old oak tree that had to come down!
I hated cutting the tree down but it had to go for many reasons!

I alternate between fresh roses and hydrangea on my kitchen window sill!
